Was feeling a load of discouragement today. I took the camera and looked at a beautiful sky.

Sometimes it's hard to resist the pull of discouragement. It's like a drain, taking good things down. But when I started to look throught the lens of the camera, I found a new focus for my feelings.

I was suddenly seeing beauty-my photos don't capture it of course, but it was happening inside me-a change of thoughts.

I like the fact that we can encourage ourselves in the Lord by reading His Word, and by writing it out so it can be seen on paper.

And I love it that God understands me, and is so gentle with me. I really don't mean to make this so much about me. I have hated that in previous posts on this blog. I apologise for it.

There is a beauty in the hardest of things we have to go through if they are filtered through God's amazing love for us. He just will not let go. It's us that lets go of Him.

Debra-

Very well written post. I liked how you compared discouragement to a drain- pulling everything good downwards. You definitely captured the beauty in your photos!! I too like being able to sit down and read the Bible, seeking to be encouraged by His words. You have nothing to apologise for, I never came across any of your posts being all about you!! : ) I love the last paragraph that you wrote "There is beauty in the hardest of things we have to go through if they are filtered through God's amazing love for us" That is so beautifully written. Very nice post!! Thank you for posting the pictures too- they were lovely!!

Looking 'up' always helps...even makes our downward views uplifting.

your photos and words were very powerful today... I also find a lift from discouragement by looking through my camera's lens... God's glory framed makes me see it more vividly some days... and that beauty lifts me. Your photos today were interesting... about God not letting us go, that it is us that lets go of Him.
Your Autumn leaves, empty bench, lonely window frame... all so much how I feel when I have forgotten He is waiting for me...
May we always take His hand a sit a while and come away refreshed!

we may sometimes let go of Him... yet He is always there... waiting!
What a good Abba Father!
I also find that on a dreary heart day, an eye through the camera into God's creation cheers me up!
