"...it is impossible for us to be merciful if we have not learned our own need for mercy and practiced receiving it from the Lord. It is our own weaknesses and failures that cause us to have compassion on the weak and erring." ~Joyce Meyer
"David was young, inexperienced, without natural armor or weapons, and Goliath was definitely bigger and more powerful than he was. But David knew his God and had confidence in Him. He believed that God would be strong in his weakness and give him the victory. He went out in the name of the Lord, with a heart full of confidence, and became a giant-killer who was eventually crowned king.(1 Samuel 17)." ~Joyce Meyer
"David had no one to believe in him, so he believed in himself. He believed in God's ability in him.
"The Lord told me once that if I didn't believe in myself, I really did not believe in him properly. He said, "I am in you, but I can only do through you what you believe."
"Confidence is something we decide to have. We learn about God-about His love, His ways and His Word-then ultimately we must decide whether we believe or not. If we do believe, then we have confidence. If we don't believe, we live in doubt about everything." ~Joyce Meyer
"Like everyone else, you will make mistakes-but God will allow you to learn from them and will actually work them out to your good if you decide not to be defeated by them. When doubt begins to torment your mind, start speaking the Word of God out of your mouth, and you will win the battle." ~Joyce Meyer
All of the above quotes are from Joyce Meyer's book, How to Succeed at Being Yourself. I used to feel foolish admitting I was reading a book with that title, but I've read it twice now, and I find help in it.
God is so big. SO much bigger than my dorky little problems and concerns-yet to Him, I am a treasure.
And so are you.

The more we see God's grand goodness, the immensity of His power, the wonderfulness of His grace towards us....then the more we become comfortable with who we are in Him.
Your photos today remind me of the flooding we experienced this past summer from the Missouri River! You could have been taking pictures in our county!
There's beauty in everything! Your 'wabi sabi' like photos demonstrate the fact well. Rusty, tarnished imperfections can be turned into assets. Perfection is not necessary!
I agree Wanda, about the rusty imperfections being beautiful. I find it so in life and in my art.
The tracks in my photos are always surrounded by water. I have loved that area near my home - in the spring, you can see loads of baby geese and ducks. For me, that's close to heaven!
Love the pictures and the quotes Debra.....Stunning as usual! Lori
Debra-
What wonderful quotes from Joyce Meyer! I have been struggling with not believing or being confident in myself. But your posts made me me feel differently. Thank you for posting these. They really uplifted my spirits and helped me today!! Great post!!
Amen, you are God's treasure, His greatest possession. Deut. 7:6.
Debra,
Thanks so much for your nice comments on my blog. What an inspiration you are! We don't use our fireplace much, but I enjoy just looking at it. Thats neat that your dad built your house!! I'm sure its kind of difficult to have someone else living in it, but at least it is still family!! That would be neat if in the future you could live in it :) I'm sure the house is extra special to you since your dad built it!! Thanks for your comments :) Have a wonderful Sunday!!
What a timely message/quotes Debra...God bless you. Love your pictures too. Tina

Debra-
Thank you so much for all your nice little comments on my blog. You are such an encouragement to me. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. Thats neat that you are selling stuff on Etsy, I recently had heard about Etsy- do you sell a lot of stuff that you make on there? someone suggested that I might want to sell some of my knitted stuff on there, but I wasn't sure how safe and all it was. I will be looking forward to your posts sometime after New Years!! Thanks again for all your nice comments. Have a wonderful day!!
A very encouraging message! Thanks Debra... we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! Amen!
