Mother and child Flicker in my yard...it was very hard to photograph them through our 100 year old glass windows. I love the blurry one with the baby's eyes closed. He's loving that bug or grub Mama is feeding him.
SWEET! I'm so thrilled that you get so many AMAZING pictures and share them... We have a Flicker...but by the time we unearth one of the cameras~ it's long gone! You're a gift! :) Michelle
A flicker was in our yard yesterday too,in the pouring down rain, drilling holes in the grass.I didn`t get very good pics of him,& he may have been a baby,he wasn`t as colorful as yours, phylliso
Wow Sis, What an awesome experience to have these wonderful times of nature's blessing in your own yard. I miss living in the country, as a child I would sit and watch natures blessings all around me, and I could just sit for hours just looking around and finding some of the most interesting things to see. Thanks for sharing.
You must carry your camera with you wherever you go! So many times I will be in the back and see something I want to take a picture of, but the camera is in the house....and the shot is long gone by the time I run inside, get the camera, run back out! You pictures always make me smile!
I just love Flickers! I don't know why, but we don't have any around here anymore. Used to, though, and I always enjoyed watching them and hearing their song! I agree with the others ---- you must always have your camera with you. Wish I could remember to carry mine with me!

Mother robins sing softly to the babies in their eggs. I know this for a fact. We watched a nest on the ledge of our eye-lash windows one year. We heard the mother singing to her eggs as she looked down at them...

Things I have learned from animals...
Ring-necked doves hoot in their sleep
Geese like lullabyes
Dogs like to smell lilacs and lily of the valley
A dog can say "I love you"
A goose can snore
An abused animal can learn to trust again-be patient
They know when you need comforting
Having a goose on your lap is wonderful
Being gentle is always right
They don't care what you look like
The cornfield with this view-how many times did my grandfather plow his field, and look off to the distant hills that just went on and on? And then my Daddy plowed too....how could you plow a straight row with those hills in your eyes?
Lord, purge our eyes to see Within the seed a tree Within the glowing egg a bird, Within the shroud a butterfly. Till, taught by such we see Beyond all creatures, Thee...

About Me
Debra
I'm 55,in love with the beauty God made, and His Word.
I have to make things and paint pictures, and paint mostly on old barn boards. I love vintage textiles, old lace and antique roses. I like looking at the sky in all kinds of weather.
I am blessed by God to have some creative gifts. I am inspired by so many artists on the Web. I do hope you will like my art work and photography, but please don't copy it. All photos, unless otherwise stated-
I am on a path in my walk with the Lord. Sometimes I am by His side, sometimes I'm behind Him, and often I even go ahead...He promised me He would be my light. He keeps His promises.
